After massive problems I ended up reinstalling my server!
Lesson learned: "If you think that you are betten you are, you end up reinstalling your system at least two times"
-------------------------------------
My system:
Asus A8V Delux, bios 1009
3,0GHz Winchester core (64-bit)
1g DDR400.
some harddisk
---
I tried my solution written in the previours news.
It all looksed ok, and the system stated that +400 packages had to downgraded.
I was happy, and went over to do something else.
my server, simple stopped downgrading backsagen, and was unable to configure the downloaded packages.
I tried apt-get -f install
aptitude
dpkg-reconfugure XX
I just got a dpkg error 2. unable to configure package....
So I did the natural ting, coped the /home and some config filer to my redundance harddisk.
Downloaded the AMD64 bit (pure).
Install the new system, was happy, but soon found out that I has t use dual lib, and bootstrap for runnign 32 bit application like gaim, openoffice and so on :-(
So at typing moment, I am reinstalling again with sarge netinstall :-(
